Just another week at Strong...

We are so lucky to be partnered with Yale University and have an opportunity to work with Yale Demos.

Our teachers giving feedback to some furniture options for our new

building on the campus of SCSU.  So exciting!

An awesome team of Strong staff members put together a turkey

dinner for our entire staff!  Thank you to everyone who made a dish!

We are all so grateful and everything was delicious!

Students in 3rd grade made "multiplication turkeys" to celebrate

the holiday and show multiplication in four ways.

Just another day at Strong

After completing a unit on portraits, one of our 2nd grade students

creates a portrait of a tiger.  Isn't is cute that her the color of her bows

match the tiger?

Our third grade studied the evolution of written communication.  In

STEM students created mail carriers and programmed the Dash and Dot

Robots to deliver different types of mail through a series of obstacles.

On Monday, we celebrated our 5th annual National Day of Reading,

formerly known as Ben Carson Reading Day to raise awareness

of the importance of everyday, leisure reading.  Look at the

excitement one of our third grade classes had to share

what they read!

Fourth Graders read an article and watched a video on Scholastic News

to learn about the recent hurricanes.  This helped students to write

letters to students in Puerto Rico for the Hispanic Heritage Month

activity. We continue to think about everyone

who was impacted by the hurricanes.

Our Kindergarten students using learning mats in Physical Education.

The learning mats utilize technology and physical fitness to reinforce

math, literacy, and health skills during Physical Education.

Annual Harvest Walk

Our Harvest Walk is always such a great "treat.".  Take a glance of how we looked at our annual event.

Art Display at Central Office!

We are extremely proud of our students whose artwork is displayed on the 2nd floor of the Gateway building!  Thank you to Mrs. Platt and Mrs. Schrier for developing the artistic skills of our young artists.  Great job to all!

October Harambee

We are so lucky to be working with the SCSU Urban Fellows again this year during Harambee.  Harambee, in Swahili, means "all pull together."  This is a time where our second graders come together to sing songs, participate in a read aloud with a guest reader, and get started for the day.  Check out some highlights from our October Harambee.
